It’s Not About Going Viral — It’s About Showing Up..
Because success isn’t measured in clicks, but in showing up, week after week, for what matters...
Every time we put together a post for 84 Musing’s Substack, it’s more than just words on a page. It’s hours of thought, of conversations, of back-and-forths with writers and contributors who bring their own unique perspectives, and of endless refining until the story feels right. It’s not just about producing content; it’s about creating something that resonates, something that reflects who we are and what we care about.
The truth is, it takes a lot. Coordinating with multiple voices is not always easy — we each have different schedules, different ways of thinking, and different ideas of how to tell a story. But what ties us together is the belief that the effort is worth it. Because behind every article we share is a promise: to bring you writing that matters, words that stay with you long after you’ve finished reading.
Over time, we’ve also realised something important: starting something new is the easy part. There’s always excitement in beginnings — the spark of an idea, the rush of energy, the thrill of “let’s do this.” But the real challenge, the true test, is sticking with it. Showing up week after week, month after month, even when the motivation dips, even when life feels overwhelming, even when no one is applauding. That consistency — that commitment — is, we’ve learnt, the largest barometer of success. Not perfection, not viral moments, not quick wins. Just showing up, over and over again, even when it’s hard.
Sometimes, we may fall behind. Life gets in the way, and despite our best intentions, posts might not always arrive on time. We know in the fast-paced world of digital content, delays can feel like disappointments. But we hope you see that every pause, every gap, is not for lack of care but because we’re trying our best to uphold the standard we’ve set for ourselves. Your patience, your encouragement, and most importantly your support — they matter more than you know. They keep us going on the days when it feels like too much.
What makes all of this so meaningful, though, is the journey we’ve shared. Over 5 decades of experiences, of stories lived and retold, of lessons learned the hard way and insights gathered slowly over time. Being able to share those years with all of you feels like a blessing. There’s a quiet joy in knowing that somewhere out there, a reader has found a piece of themselves in what we’ve written. That connection is the real reward.
We don’t take it for granted. Not for a second. Each time we sit down to write, we are reminded that this page is not just ours — it belongs to everyone who reads, reflects, and carries these words into their own lives. That’s why we keep striving, even when it’s hard. That’s why we’ll continue to give this our all, however imperfectly, because you deserve nothing less than our very best.
So thank you. Thank you for reading, for supporting, for sticking with us through the quiet weeks and celebrating with us on the loud ones. Thank you for allowing us to share a piece of our journey with you. We are deeply grateful — and we can’t wait to keep writing the next chapters together.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not the ideas we start, but the ones we nurture, the stories we keep telling, and the connections we honour that truly define our journey.
Signing off for 84 Musing,
